Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Disorder (also known as BPD) is a mental health condition in which a person experiences difficulties with emotional regulation and ability to modulate affect. For many who experience BPD, emotions are often overwhelming.

The ups and downs can appear quickly and last for long periods of time. These emotional states  are often intense, making it challenging to engage in  normal activities and functions of daily life.

People who experience Borderline Personality Disorder struggle to maintain healthy relationships, have difficulty managing their behavior, and develop issues with self-image. Additionally, those suffering from BPD can be susceptible to highly impulsive,self-injurious, attention seeking or reckless  behavior. More than half of the people diagnosed with BPD are women, although many psychologists believe that because BPD in cases of many men can be mistaken for anxiety, depression, or PTSD, causing them to be misdiagnosed.
